Moroccan pendants and Berber fibula are often intended for decorative use. Small fibula are often used as pins. The very small ones are intended for the hair or the forehead. Nowadays, Fibula are used mostly as a brooch and worn with traditional Berber clothing, a sign of pride and chastity for Berber women.
Most berber fibula are worn in pairs on each shoulder to retain cloth other garments. They are often connected by an intermediate chain in the middle. Other circular fibula are worn on the breast like the “Tabzimt”, or on the headscarf which covers the head like the “Adouir” in the Kabyle region of Algeria.
